Therapy with Me

So what will working together look like?

At the core of my work I believe problems are problems, people are not problems. You are a complex person who has a body, mind, and spirit working hard to care for, protect, and support you to experience joy and connection.

In our work together we will explore the many ways culture, oppressive systems, and our own hopes and desires have shaped the narratives and beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world (Narrative therapy). We will dive into the process of untangling the stories that you no longer need or want to make room for your mind, body, and spirit to breathe as you expand and build the life you want to live. While we explore these stories, we’ll stay close to your whole self, tuning into what your body and your nervous system have to share about your experience and what support you need (Somatic therapy). Together we’ll collaborate to use the creative process of therapy (maybe with a few art supplies along the way!) to develop new relationships with your problems and to enrich the stories of desire and hope that have brought you to therapy (Art therapy).

My experience

What I have collaborated with folks on:

  • Finding new relationships with what gets called: anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, among many other mental health experiences.

  • Trauma, including complex PTSD

  • Grief and loss

  • Navigating life transitions of all kinds: entering and leaving college, changing jobs and careers, becoming a parent, navigating the start or end of relationships, change in identity/sense of self

  • Exploring gender and what that looks and feels like for you, what it means to you, and how you want to embody what it means to be you (hello gender euphoria!)

  • Exploring sexuality anywhere on the array of what human sexuality is and can look like: queerness, heterosexuality, asexuality, sexual fluidity, kink, getting to know what sexuality means to you.

  • Getting curious about relationships and relational patterns through the lens of attachment theory to help you feel empowered to cultivate the kinds of relationships they want in their life.

  • Diving into values exploration to help you get “unstuck” and gain clarity on what’s important to in your life and how you can make values aligned decisions in your day to day life.
